Oxana Nikitina

Lead Freshwater Project coordinator
PhD in Freshwater Ecology Oxana’s work focuses on developing approaches for freshwater biodiversity conservation and management, including the science of environmental flows and mitigation of flow regulation impact on riverine ecosystems. Oxana managed the basin-wide assessment of hydropower impact on the freshwater environment in the Amur River basin. She co-authored a book exploring feasible options for flood risk management while maintaining freshwater ecosystems in the Amur basin. Oxana holds a PhD in Freshwater Ecology from the Water Problems Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and a MSc in Hydrology from Moscow State University.
