Musical band SUNSAY and WWF-Russia presented the Earth Song
The video was shot at a variety of locations in Russia where the World Wide Fund for Nature carries out its projects, including Kamchatka, Karelia, and the Kola Peninsula, on the shore of the Barents Sea.
According to Andrey Zaporozhets, a musician form Ukraine, the author of the song and the founder of the SunSay project, he was so inspired by the beauty of the wild nature and the idea of its preservation that he wrote the song in one day.
"The Earth Song is a message to anyone anywhere on Earth about people and the nature being a complete whole and about our relationship with the planet. I hope our video will be an inspiration to think and act. Preservation of endangered animal species and forests, waste management, global warming, and disappearance of indigenous cultures — all this concerns people irrespective of the country they live in. Everyone can change the situation, at least to some degree! Let's be more caring about the nature and each other."
The project was initiated by the production company Diagonal 11. The video directed by Valentin Savin and Katerina Lagoda features ordinary people living in Murmansk, who are not professional actors but the artist's fans sharing the project values and mission.
WWF Russia: "The
new project by SunSay is an unforgettable journey and a dive into the unique
world of infinitely beautiful and inspiring, but at the same time fragile and
vulnerable nature. Even the most remote parts of Russia where many of us have
never been and will probably never visit are also our home, about which the
artist sings so passionately. The Earth Song is a creative project and WWF Russia
is happy to be part of it. We are grateful to SunSay and his team for setting
to music and conveying in their video the most important things we have been
talking about with you for 25 years. And let the Earth Song play for us
throughout the next year, the anniversary year for WWF Russia!"
