Young Ranger School for Protected Areas' wardens in Altai - Sayan Ecoregion

This September Young Ranger School for wardens of Nature Reserves, National and Nature Parks was organized by Altaiskyi Nature Reserve with support from «Protected Areas - for A living Planet» Programme of WWF.

Seven days thirty wardens learned from professional trainers and experienced experts the most necessary skills needed for a good PA’s ranger such as the first aid, self – defense, arrest tactics, operating modern communication and fire-extinguishing means and facilities. The special attention was given to the juridical aspects of PAs.

As the hosts of the training the wardens of Altaiskyi Nature Reserve showed the peculiarities of water basin protection and tourism control. While patrolling the area the wardens had a chance to practice the skills gained during the training. All participants spoke about the willingness to have such training annually to exchange experience and discuss actual topics
