The Second Round Experience Sharing Meeting for PAs in Trans-Boundary Areas of Three Neighbouring Countries in Altay Sayan Region

Experience sharing is an important event for Protected Areas (PAs) in trans-boundary areas. In this line, the countries Mongolia, China, and Russia, where WWF programmes are implemented, have successfully organized the second round experience sharing meeting for expanding cooperation between trans-boundary PAs and improving capacities of PA Administrations’ specialists and officers within Altay Sayan region. The first round meeting was organized under a topic “Monitoring and Research Methodology on Biodiversity in Saylyugemsky National Park (NP) in Russia on November 15-18, 2018.

During the meeting, the participants from the three neighbouring countries shared their knowledge and experiences in Open Standard and Climate Adaptation Methodology for Protected Area (CAMPA) used for PA planning. They also consulted about climate change adaptation measures having exchanged their knowledge, information, and experiences with a focus on the most practical actions. The participants were all happy with the event and suggested to annually organize within longer period that enabled the participants to share more details on their joint activities and cooperation between the trans-boundary PAs.
