WWF Developed Business Skills of Local Communities of Russia and Kazakhstan
About 1,700 start-up eco-entrepreneurs in Russia and Kazakhstan developed skills in basic business skills, fundraising, eco-certification, market analysis, e-commerce, branding, etc. The training was organized by WWF-Russia and partner as part of a program to support start-up entrepreneurs in the field of environmentally friendly business.
Two hundred participants joined offline business schools that took place at the beginning of the year in the republics of Buryatia and Altai. The winners of eco-schools received free business support from professional business tutors or gained experience in developing ecotourism by visiting the Kenozero National Park.
About 1,500 residents of Russia and Kazakhstan joined Business to Nature, the free online training platform with the courses in the field of green economy, marketing, social entrepreneurship. Also, 24 students of the Gorno-Altai Polytechnic College tested the Sustainable Development of the Territory, environmental business game and created a sustainable model region and calculated effective strategies for the regional development from the point of view of government, society and business. WWF Russia’s experts plan to finalize the game and use this tool in other regions of Russia and Kazakhstan.
At the end of the year, program participants share their experiences and talk about achievements. Basically, these are start-up businessmen developing business in the field of nature-friendly business: ecotourism, production of souvenirs from natural raw materials, food products, etc.
WWF will share the programmes lessons in 2023: beginners may join the free online Business Nature course. Sustainable Development of the Territory business games will be shared with the other regions of Russia and Kazakhstan.
