In the Year of Salmon, the Amur Ecoregion has launched an international art contest for kids “Great Wanderers”

05 april 2019
More than 2,600 children from Primorsky, Khabarovsky, Zabaikalsky, Amurskaya and Evreiskaya provinces took part in the first stage of the Sino-Russian contest of creative works “Great Wanderers”. The competition is dedicated to the International Year of Salmon and is supported by WWF Russia.

23 nature reserves and national parks of the Russian part of the Amur-Heilong River basin have organized the contest each on their territory.

For almost two months, teachers, schoolchildren from 6 to 17 years old and their parents studied salmon species and tried to present fish character in all possible ways: they prepared bright drawings, handicrafts in different techniques and posters with slogans about the preservation of migratory fish and their spawning grounds.
