Ecologists demand from GazPromInvestVostok to observe the law when constructing gas pipeline in the Land of Leopard

09 october 2009
October 8, Vladivostok. A press-conference on environmental issues of laying Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipe-line in Land of Leopard took place at WWF’s initiative.

There were several reasons to conduct this press-conference. One of them is that GazProm has broken an agreement reached at the public hearings – the company has sent project documentation to Rostechnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Ecological, Technical and Atomic Supervision) for ecological expertise without expert assessment of a special mitigation commission. The commission was formed in Primorye for revision of environmental impact assessment documentation as related to the pipeline construction in PAs of Khasanskii district in Primorye.
