A tour “along tiger trail”
25 february 2010
The new stage of the marathon “Along tiger trail” initiated by WWF was launched in the Far East. Its participants are 15 nature reserves and 3 national parks, 4 nature protection brigades and 9 grassroots organizations.
The start point of the tiger marathon was the exhibition of children drawings “The world through kids eyes” organized by Marine nature reserve on 19 February in Vladivostok Center for Children Art. The marathon will be held in all protected areas of the southern Far East and will finish in September on the Tiger Day in Vladivostok city where International Tiger Summit will be held.
The symbol of the marathon - a big tiger toy and the map with the rout it has to go – were given by WWF to the Marine nature reserve. After 10 days of work at schools of Vladivostok and Khasanskii district the toy tiger will go to Khankaiskii reserve, than to “Zov Tigra” national park and so on to all the protected areas of Primorye.
