“Stock status assessment and fishery management” will help students, who study water biorecources and aquaculture.

The book is written by a group of scientists form KSTU and Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Science. The textbook, entitled “Stock status assessment and fishery management” came as the result of many years’ work. The book cannot tell about all peculiarities of stock status assessment and fishery management recommendations, however, it gives thorough analysis of guidelines, which scientists should follow in their work. Only three commercial species were taken as an example in the book: pollock, herring and saury. The species are very different in their lifestyle, habitat and population growth conditions. That demands a specialist to use a wide range of methods.

The authors hope, that the book will also encourage students in discovering new, more efficient methods of analysis.
