Four new nature parks will be established in Tuva

10 october 2007
Ush-Beldir, Taiga station, Shui and Shanchi - these nature parks will be included in the scheme of protected areas development in the Republic of Tuva till 2015.

Each of these territories is unique: healthful springs of Ush-Beldir are known far away from Sayan, Taiga station is a favourite leisure time destination for citizens of Kyzyl (capital of Tuva), Shui is a piligrimage place for alpinists and tourists. Shanchi was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin this summer.

WWF-Russia and other international organisations are ready to help create these new protected areas. In particular, WWF experts have already visited Shui.

First vice-premier of Tuva Republic Sholban Irgit says that vendors will have to make scientific ground for projects, to denote clear borders of new parks and to work out mechanisms of sustainable financing.
