Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve opens craft workshop

15 july 2016
In the village of Terney, at the base of the Reserve’s Information Center a craft workshop was opened with the support of WWF.

At the moment, either kids or grownups can joint lessons and create clayware but in the future the souvenirs will be made of horn and wood. According to the Reserve’s Administration, the workshop is not an entertainment. It is a good chance to provide eco-tourists with quality souvenirs and to give the local people additional revenue. During the summer holidays about 50 kids were involved in the pottery every week. The Reserve’s Administration expects much more kids to join the workshop in autumn when the school starts.
