Katon-Karagai National Park in Kazakhstan hosts 5 snow leopards

04 april 2016
This is the results of recent research supported by WWF and a corporate partner “Siberian Health” company in Kazakhstan.

The area used to be considered a potential SL habitat. However the rangers of the specific patrolling group organized and equipped by WWF proved the presence of minimum 5 snow leopards in Katon-Karagaisky National Park. It means that more conservation efforts are needed in the area to raise awareness among local people and ensure efficient enforcement.
