WWF.RU has been awarded a Runet Prize — 2017

The WWF website won a National Prize for Contribution into the Russian-language segment of the Internet in the «Ecology and environment» category.

The national Runet Prize is awarded annually for outstanding achievements in the sphere of information technology and electronic communication to leading companies, state and non-governmental organisations, businesses, as well as to individuals that have largely contributed to the development of Russia’s Internet segment. The award was initiated by The Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC) with the support of the Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications and the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, key industry players and the expert community. 

«We have put a lot of effort into this project and we are proud of the results achieved. For the WWF, not only is the website a business card, but it is also an important instrument of communication with a wide audience. The website has become faster, more convenient and functional. We worked very hard to combine the most progressive developments in the spheres of website building and fundraising and we are sure that it will aid in tackling environmental issues more effectively», — says Yuri Sochnev, marketing and communication and director of WWF Russia.

At the new website, forest and sea issues, rare and endangered species and ecological footprint are covered in a graphic way. The XIV Runet Prize ceremony – 2017 took place on 23th November in Moscow at the site of Digital Business Space. The Prize was awarded in 6 main and 4 special nominations, as well as to the best projects that has taken part in all-Russian online campaign «Popular vote».
