The ecofestival 'Save Kamchatka Nature!' has finished in the peninsula

29 june 2017
In four months, the festival crisscrossed five districts of Kamchatka region, visited 18 venues, and conducted 216 events for 2,745 participants.

The events were conducted in a fascinating, riveting manner. There were not just discussions but also quests, workshops, and quizzes for schoolkids. It became possible to organize such a large-scale event due to creativity and altruism of the Kronotsky Preserve staff members, "Kamchatka Volcanos" nature park, Central Library of Elizovo, Institute of Vulcanology, educational centers, and students of Kamchatka State University. A canis-therapy group also participated in a number of events, showing children how profitable and useful good relationship with animals can be.

Elena Krasilnikova, who is the head of Non-commercial partnership “Informational Touristic Center of Elizovo” and the inspirer of the whole event, emphasized that the festival was planned to be over in May.

"However, we received a number of requests to conduct several more events in June. It's holiday time, and we are free to combine discussion of serious problems with playful activities at children's camps. Due to reasonable causes, we were unable to rich the northernmost settlements of Kamchatka region. Although, we sent several parcels with books and educational material to the schools of Palana, Voyampolka, and Tigil'."
