WWF-Russia helped in organizing an environmental education festival in Kamchatka
09 august 2021
Environmental education activities for school children were conducted in one of the remote villages of Kamchatka in the framework of the "Save Kamchatka Nature!" festival supported by WWF-Russia
Despite summer break, schoolkids from the village of Apache (Ust-Bolsheretsk district, Kamchatka krai) returned to school for a day. Thirty-four children, who attended a school summer camp, participated in quests and quizzes on nature conservation topics. They learned more about the regional environment and the importance of a respectful attitude towards it, they also watched cartoons and documentaries about Kamchatka nature.
In September, the organizers plan to reach 11 remote settlements covering the distance of about 600 km from south to north of the region.
