WWF MADE A FEAST "LEOPARD’S DAY" FOR THE KUBAN AND ADYGEA CITIZENS

On the eve of the Persian Leopard Day, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) organized an event in family holiday format for Adygea and Krasnodar citizens. "Leopard’s Day" was held in a large Trade Center "MEGA-Adygea-Kuban".
Sunday was a real gift for hundreds of residents of Krasnodar and Adygea. Russian Caucasus office WWF-Russia has created a two-hour holiday dedicated to the Persian leopard for Megamall’s visitors. The Red Book predator is not only one of the symbols of the Ecoregion, but it is also one of the key elements of emblems and flags of some Caucasian Republics. On July 15, 2016, WWF-Russia with support of the Ministry of natural resources of Russia and partners of the Persian Leopard Reintroduction Program, released first leopards on the Caucasian Reserve’s territory. In July-August 2018 was the second release. Therefore, WWF organizes meetings, lessons in schools and various communication activities to raise awareness of local people towards leopard and its restoration.

An interesting and useful information about WWF activities and the leopard reintroduction program in the Caucasus, funny contests, eco-quizzes, quests, and a master class from the artist, as well as many prizes and sweet gifts were received by the participants. While some participants of the Festival answered the questions of a host and passed the quest with "hidden" animals, others lined up for a leopard face painting and to Bullet Time photo. Also Instaprinter worked on the site. Everyone could post a photo to Instagram with a special hashtag and immediately automatically get a beautiful digital image with a festive decoration.

«We tell and get important information to people through festive mood, quizzes and prizes. After this event, some children or their parents will be interested in Persian leopard, they will read the presented book, visit our website and learn something new about the species and other animals of the Caucasus. You need to understand that a responsible attitude to nature is not the givens, but a feeling that can be brought up both in a child and in an adult», - explains Mikhail Klimenko, Press Officer of the "Russian Caucasus" ecoregional office, WWF-Russia.
