09 august 2013
Leaders of school initiative groups from Pozharsky, Dalnerechensky and Chuguevsky districts of Primorye took part in the summer camp eco shift that was organized by WWF in the State Marine Nature Reserve, on Popov Island.

For the second successive year the kids from the northern part of Primorsky Province are absorbed with the forest topic. 35 kids the most active participants of the Forest for Life project came to the camp not only to relax near the sea but also to study.

They conducted a field research comparing forest plots with Korean pines planted using different technics, participated in the teambuilding activities, contests, master classes, and excursions.

“We hope that the knowledge and skills gained during the shift will help the kids to organize eco patrols or eco clubs at their schools, to prepare mini projects on nature conservation, and join the ranks of those who already are solving existing environmental problems, comments Svetlana Titova, protected areas projects coordinator at WWF Russia Amur branch.
