A fundraising took place on the website of the "Earth Hour" during the entire campaign and it was focused on the restoration of the red book boxwood, a relict plant, which was basically destroyed by a pyralid, brought in during the preparation for the Olympic games in Sochi 2014. The partners and the supporters of WWF Russia have already managed to raise 2.5 million rubles for the creation of a special nursery garden for young seedlings of boxwood to prevent the complete disappearance of this ancient plant.
This year 188 States took part in the Earth Hour worldwide, which became an absolute record for all 11 years of the global campaign.
