This brochure is written for a wide audience interested in climate change and global energy development as well as students for environmental and energy studies, officials, and members of non-governmental organizations. Brochure provides concise description of scenarios of global and Russian energy development in terms of climate change problem and the need to reduce GHG emissions. It is shown which options of energy development are viable in order to resolve climate change problem. Approaches are proposed for international commitments to be imposed on the international communities after 2012 (when current commitments for the Kyoto protocol expire). Materials presented can be used to prepare a popular science lecture on global energy development in the context of anthropogenic climate change.
