The Atlantic walrus of the southeastern Barents Sea and adjacent regions: Review of the present-day status

The Atlantic walrus of the southeastern Barents Sea and adjacent regions: Review of the present-day status

The purpose of the present survey is to state the population and habitat parameters of the walrus habitat in the region concerned to be considered in developing measures for walrus conservation and revealing the gaps to be bridged.

In this survey we relied on virtually all published and original data available on the key population parameters of the Atlantic walrus in its eastern part of range. In some instances, unpublished data were used.
